Alberto (known to many as Albert) "Pops" Mendez-Salazar, 73 of Quinlan, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, July 4, 2022.
Alberto was born on April 9, 1949, to the late Braulio Mendez-Blanco and Maria De Los Angeles-Salazar in Monterrey, Mexico. He spent his childhood in Mexico. He went to welding school in Mexico and later moved to Texas where he married his beloved wife of 52 years Maria SanJuana Hernandez on July 4, 1970. Albert worked at Ingersoll Rand for 29 years. He loved telling stories, listening to others life stories, and always made others laugh. He loved watching sports of any kind, but his utmost favorite was soccer and softball. Alberto was also a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
Alberto is preceded in death by his parents Braulio and Maria-Mendez; brother Francisco "Paco"; sisters Elvira and Mercedes "Meche", Rama, Angel (Compadres); and granddaughter Jocelyn.
Alberto is survived by his beloved wife Maria SanJuana Mendez; sons, Carlos Alberto Mendez and wife Jennifer and Samuel Jacob Mendez and wife Angie; daughter Claudia Edith Clymer and husband Brent; brothers, Salvador, Braulio and Javier; sisters Antonia and Ofelia; grandchildren, Rafeal, Mercedes, Kadie, Romeo, Hannah, Mariana, Venus and Athena; great-grandchildren Wil (Little Feather) and Mar'Keith (MarKitos).
