Amanda Ruth Gonzalez, born Amanda Ruth Abbott, passed away on September 20, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on January 10, 1966, in Dallas, and will be remembered with love for the warmth, faith, and spirited presence she brought to the lives of those around her.

Amanda was a 1984 graduate of Wills Point High School. She went on to serve others as a Certified Nurses Assistant at a nursing facility, a career that reflected her caring nature and commitment to helping people. She retired in 2024 after years of dedicated work.

She was known as a funny, faith-filled, and passionate woman. Worship was an important part of her life, and she devoted time to studying the Bible. Among her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren, a part of her life that brought her deep happiness and lasting meaning.

Amanda is survived by her son, James Cody Abbott, and his wife, Tabitha; her daughters, Kayla Gonzalez and her husband, Aaron, and Jessica Gonzalez and her husband, Joshua. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Sophia, Isabel, Camila, and Kourtlynn, who were a treasured part of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, who carry forward the love, laughter, and faith she shared so freely.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cody T. Abbott, and her mother, Wanda Gamble.

A celebration of life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Community Gospel Church of Myrtle Springs, located at 120 VZ County Road 3224, Myrtle Springs, Texas 75169.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Gospel Church of Myrtle Springs in Amanda's honor.
