ANNA MARIE
SMITH
May 19, 1987 – June 8, 2026
Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home
10:00 - 11:00 am (Central time)
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Anna Marie Smith, who left us on June 8, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. Born on May 19, 1987, in Dallas, Anna was a beacon of creativity and resilience, whose vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.
Anna courageously and successfuly battled Acute Myeloid Leukemia, diagnosed in September 2023. Throughout this difficult journey, her strength and determination remained unwavering, fortified by the love and support of her family, especially her younger sister, Miranda, who selflessly was her bone marrow transplant donor. The transplant was in January 2024, which put Anna into remission. Anna’s life was a testament to her spirited and indomitable character.
She was a proud graduate of West Mesquite High School’s Class of 2005 and pursued some college education at Dallas College. Anna was known for her creative and artistic nature, paired with a strong, organized, and detailed approach to life. Her independence, drive, and resilience inspired those around her, while her hilarious and funny personality brought joy in the darkest moments.
Anna found immense joy in traveling and organizing events where everyone she loved could come together. Her children—Jameson, Hadlee, and Ireland—were the light of her life, filling her days with purpose and happiness. A devoted mother and wife, Anna married the love of her life, Kelby Smith, on July 15, 2018, in Heath, Texas. Together, they built a lifetime of cherished memories.
Her community felt her warmth deeply as she dedicated countless hours volunteering at her children’s school. Anna served with pride as the President of the PTO at J. W. Long Elementary in Terrell, Texas, where her leadership and compassion made a lasting impact.
Anna is survived by her beloved husband, Kelby Smith, and their treasured children: Jameson, Hadlee, and Ireland. She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Robbin Rodriguez; brother, Adam Castillo, and his wife Rachel; sisters, Miranda Johnson and Chasatee Carbaugh (also her sister-in-law and best friend), along with Chasatee’s husband Larry; brother-in-law Brandun Smith; and her extended family including nieces Jane Castillo, Morgan Carbaugh, Landree Carbaugh, Hailey Carbaugh; nephews Cade Castillo, Gage Castillo, Micah Johnson, and Carter Carbaugh. Her mother-in-law, Montel Ridge, and parents-in-law, Brian and Patty Smith, as well as grandparents by marriage, Kathy Bell and Martha Smith, also hold her memory dear. Anna’s four-legged best friend, Goose, shared in her journey and remains a loyal presence in the hearts of the family.
Anna’s life was shaped and enriched by those who came before her, including her late grandmother June Andrews, great-grandmother Susie Wheeler, and niece Laurren Smith, who are now reunited with her.
A memorial service to honor Anna’s life will be held on June 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home, located at 205 Corky Boyd Ave, Wills Point, Texas 75169. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Anna’s light are invited to come together, celebrate her timeless spirit, and find comfort in shared memories.
Anna Marie Smith’s legacy of love, humor, and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her passing leaves a profound emptiness, but her enduring strength and warmth will continue to inspire all who carry her memory forward.
