Funeral services for Armando De Leon, 75, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. Interment will be at Bright Star Cemetery north of Wills Point.
He passed away early Thursday morning, June 28, 2018, at his home in Wills Point.
Armando was born July 12, 1942, in Santa Maria, Texas, the son of Louis De Leon and Luisa Rodriguez De Leon. He was raised in Terrell and graduated from Terrell High School in 1960. Armando was a veteran of the United States Army from 1966 - 1968. After serving his country, he married Lela Coon on April 20, 1973, at Chapel of the Lake. In 1974, they moved to Wills Point. Armando was formerly employed by Southland Athletic, Co. in Terrell, retiring in 2012. He loved working on his farm, tending to his cows, fishing and especially spending time with his grandkids. Armando loved telling jokes and playing pranks on people. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
He was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Luisa De Leon; two brothers, Leo De Leon and Tony De Leon and a sister, Ida French.
Armando is survived by his wife, Lela De Leon, of Wills Point; daughter, Amanda Greene & husband, Torrance, of Wills Point; brother, Louis De Leon, Jr. & wife, Gloria, of Terrell; two sisters, Wanda Garcia, of Dallas and Annie Gomez, of Dallas; three grandchildren, JaeDrien Greene, Cameron Greene and Rylan Greene; numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the breakfast group at the Yellow Rose.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
