Aurolyn J. Green was called to her eternal rest on September 26, 2024, at the age of 72, in Dallas, Texas. Born on August 30, 1952, in Jonesville, Louisiana, to the late Walter Edward Green and Harriette Washington Green. Aurolyn was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her throughout her blessed 72 years.

After graduating from Andress High School in El Paso, Texas, with the class of 1970, Aurolyn pursued higher education with vigor and purpose, culminating in the achievement of a master's degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. With a passion for knowledge and a heart for service, she embarked on a rewarding career in education, shaping young minds as a schoolteacher within the Dallas Independent School District until her well-earned retirement in 2008. Aurolyn's motto has always been "Teaching is My Joy".

Aurolyn lived a life marked by devotion, not only to her vocation as an educator but also to her faith. As a cherished member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Wills Point, Texas, her presence was a steadfast pillar within the church community. She pursued her hobbies with the same grace and commitment that she applied to every aspect of her life, enriching the lives of those around her through writing, teaching, investing in children's futures, and devout church attendance.

Left to honor her memory and carry on her legacy of love are her beloved son, Denver Samples III; her cherished brothers Joe Collins and Walter Green, Jr. (Suman); her adored sisters Janice Green, Renee Mason (Bill), Regina Cunigan, and Gloria Green. Aurolyn now rejoins in Heaven her late and revered parents Walter Edward Green and Harriette Washington Green, who preceded her in passing.

The funeral service will be held to celebrate Aurolyn's life at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 10th, 2024, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, located at 812 N. Wills St., Wills Point, Texas. Following the service, Aurolyn will be laid to rest during a graveside service at White Rose Cemetery, Wills Point. Reverend Lonnie Cunigan will preside over the ceremonies with dignity and reverence. The arrangements for Aurolyn's funeral and interment have been entrusted to Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home of Wills Point, Texas.

Her legacy of kindness, education, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew her.
