Benita Joy Hogeland, 83 of Winnsboro, Texas passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2023, in Winnsboro, Texas. Benita was born on July 7, 1939 in Hearne, Texas to William Bynum and Nora Copeland.

Benita was raised in New Boston, Texas, where she later graduated from New Boston High School in 1955. Benita married Earl Edward Hogeland in 1976 in Dallas, Texas. She lived in Dallas for 28 years where she was employed as a cashier at Tom Thumb Grocery Store. Benita later moved to Wills Point and was employed by Wills Point Independent School District and retired as a server at the High School cafeteria. Benita was of the Christian faith and attended First Baptist Church of Wills Point.

Benita is preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl Hogeland; daughter Barbara Hogeland; three brothers James Mack Bynum, Truman Bynum and Ralph Bynum.

Benita leaves behind her two sons Jimmy Taylor and Bobby Taylor, one daughter, Brenda Taylor and husband Andy and 19 Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday March 13, 2023, at Mullin Fuller Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, services will follow at 2:00 PM.

In Lieu of Flowers family has requested donations be made to WPISD Education Foundation.
