Obituary

Funeral services for Benny Scott, 90, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point with Pastor David Cartwright officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

He passed away early Thursday morning, December 17, 2015, in Wills Point.

Benny was born on April 30, 1925, in the Board Community northeast of Wills Point on the Scott farm. He was the son of Robert Riley "Gabe" Scott and Susanna Scott. He was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1942. Benny was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. In 1949, he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. In January 1950, he married Lela Jo White and she passed away in January 1951. Five years later, on March 31, 1956, he married Doris Randolph Hunsecker and she passed away on October 6, 1961 and in November 1971, he married Naomi Hallum. Benny was owner and editor of a magazine, The Quarter Racing Record from 1962 - 1983. He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, golfing and spending time with his family. He lived in Ft. Worth from 1962 – 1995 prior to moving back to Wills Point. Benny was a member of Chickasha Masonic Lodge and Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point.

Preceded in death by his parents, Gabe and Susanna Scott; two wives, Lela Jo White Scott and Doris Randolph Hunsecker Scott; two brothers, Bill Scott and Robert Scott; sister, Ruby Scott Anders and a step-grandson, Tracey Brooks.

Benny is survived by his daughter, Sherry Moore & husband, Richard, of Wills Point; granddaughter, Riley Moore, of Wills Point; grandson, Zac Moore, of Wills Point; sister, Becky Davis & husband, Don, of Wills Point; former wife, Naomi Scott, of Ft. Worth; step-daughter, Loulie Hunsecker, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two step-grandsons, Mark Brooks, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Shawn Blackford, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two step great-grandchildren, Emiliee Spencer and Marcus Brooks; step great-great grandson, Hunter Spencer; nephews, nieces and several cousins.

Family will receive friends at the church Sunday afternoon one hour prior to service.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of Crestwood Nursing Home and Alinea Hospice for their care and support.
