Funeral services for Betty Laverne Douthitt, 82, of Quinlan, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor James Whittiker officiating. Interment will follow at Creagleville Cemetery near Grand Saline.
She passed away Tuesday evening, November 1, 2016, in a Greenville hospital.
Betty was born August 18, 1934, in Wills Point, the daughter of Charles Ray Payne and Mary Alice Brown Payne. She was raised in Van Zandt County. On November 14, 1949, she married Jessie A. Douthitt in Grand Saline. Betty was formerly employed by Jordan Healthcare in Greenville, retiring in 2006. She lived in Mesquite prior to moving to Quinlan twenty-five years ago. Betty enjoyed cooking and being with her family. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ray and Mary Alice Payne; three brothers; three sisters and a son, Jessie Lee Douthitt.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jessie A. Douthitt, of Quinlan; two daughters, Glenda Emerson, of Point and Sharon Wooley & husband, Orville, of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Patsy Douthitt, of Mesquite; nine grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to service.
