Billy Ray Hays, aged 65, passed away on August 29, 2024, in Cleburne, Texas. Born on July 6, 1959, in Corsicana, Texas, Billy lived a life of creativity, intelligence, and a knack for hands-on projects.

Billy served with honor in the United States Army, dedicating years to serving his country before returning to his roots in Texas. His commitment to service was a significant aspect of his life, reflecting his dedication and resilience.

Deeply rooted in his Southern Baptist faith, he found spiritual solace and fellowship.  His faith played an essential role in his life, guiding him through many life's challenges and joys.

An avid outdoorsman, Billy enjoyed fishing and exploring the natural world. His creative spirit was also evident in his crafts, a hobby he loved sharing with his family and friends. Quality time with loved ones was paramount for Billy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Billy is survived by his son, Joshua Hays of Wills Point, Texas; daughter, April Mashelle Babovec (John) of Grand Saline, Texas. He was a proud grandfather to Wesley Alan Smith, Kourtney Nicole Smith, Loryn Mashelle Babovec; his sister Ruby Insell (Huey) of Azel, Texas. Stepchildren Eric Fairfax and Natasha Lay (Stacy); Step-grandchildren Keeland Lay, Kenneth Lay, Tristan Lay, and Taylor Grace Fairfax; Step-great grandchildren Adalline Williamson, Cyress Williamson, Oakland Williamson, Aria Brinley, and Levi Lay; Aunts Lee Follett, Louise Harris, and Ann Green; Uncles Jim Hawthorn and Joe Hawthorn; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Angela Hope Hays; his father, John Adam Hays; mother Haneva Robinson Simmons; brother John Wayne Hays; and sister Elizabeth Ann Fagan.

A memorial service to honor Billy Ray will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Fruitvale, 181 VZ County Road 1910, Fruitvale, Texas.

The Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas, is handling the arrangements.  His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
