Billy D Mellorn Jr., of Edgewood, TX, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020, in Tyler, at the age of 76.
Billy was born on January 14, 1944, to Ruby and Dewey Mellorn in Terrell. He spent most of his life in Wills Point. Billy served in the Army right out of high school. He was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church of Edgewood. Billy was self-employed as a carpenter all his adult life, retiring in 2005. Billy loved to garden, fishing, camping, dancing, playing horseshoes, and cooking out with family and friends.
Billy loved and was loved by his church family as well as numerous close friends and cousins. He didn't miss school reunions or a chance to converse with his Sunday School class and church members. His gardening skills and excellent produce was known 3 counties wide. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
To cherish his memories, he leaves behind one sister, Tammy Lynn Portz and Craig of Garland, TX; his sons, Chad Mellorn of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Corey Mellorn and Paige of Allen, TX, Billy Mellorn and Angie of Mabank, and Calvin Bateman and Marissa of Wills Point; daughter, Melinda Wilkins of Tioga; grandchildren, Heather, Nathenial, Justice, Able, Johnathon, Michael, Bethany, Josiah, Hunter, Tristan, Darion, Tristain, Dustin, Braxton, Hope and Ruby on the way; great-grandchildren, Weston, Ava and Maddie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Ray Tull.
Funeral service will be held Monday, March 16, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Union Baptist Church, at 2360 VZ CR 3701, Edgewood, TX. Family will be accepting guests one hour prior for visitation.
Arrangements are under the care of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, TX.
