Bill "Billy Dean" Smith, 79, of Edgewood, Texas, passed away on December 31, 2023. He was born on November 19, 1944. Bill, as he was preferred to be called, was an adventurous and interesting individual who had a knack for handy work.

Bill was a self-employed master plumber, dedicating his career to his craft. He took pride in his work and was known for his expertise in the field. His skills and knowledge were admired by many.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed fishing, collecting Native American artifacts, and listening to music. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to appreciate the beauty of nature and cultural heritage.

Bill will be remembered and greatly missed by his surviving family members. He is survived by his children, Davy Smith and wife DeAnna, Brenda Bishop and husband Tony, Paul Smith and wife Vicki, J.D. Smith and wife Cristy; his grandchildren, Lance Simmons, Jeff Mason, Ashley Pilgrim, Amber Smith, Colby Simmons, Autumn McCulloch, Trent Smith, and Jordan Smith; and his great-grandchildren, Kason Simmons, Lyle Simmons, Cannon Mason, Brynlee Mason, Deegan Mason, Grant Pilgrim, Ryleigh Simmons, Abilene Simmons, Hudson McCulloch, Emory McCulloch, Parker McCulloch, Emily Forbes, Skylar Forbes, and Jayden Forbes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Evelyn Smith; his brother, Morris Smith Jr.; and his sister, Sue Brashear.

A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Church of Christ in Fruitvale, Texas. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation period starting one hour earlier. The burial will be held privately following the service.

The Mullin Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
