Brinda peacefully entered Heaven at the age of 74 on December 22, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.

Brinda Kay Shifflett was born August 3, 1947, in Wills Point, Texas to Herman Floyd Rohus Sr. and Gladis Mae Rohus. Brinda spent her early childhood in Wills Point and was a lifelong member of the Assemblies of God Church. She graduated from Wills Point High School in 1965 and attended Terrell School of Business where she graduated and became employed in 1965 by Texas Aluminum Company as secretary in Terrell, which later became Talco Aluminum in Wills Point, where she transitioned until it closed. She was employed at the Wills Point High School as a secretary in the school cafeteria. She married Delton Shifflett, January 26, 1974. Delton and Brinda served as pastor of the Wills Point Assembly of God Church for 18 years and she was secretary of the church and president of the Womens Missionary Council and Missionettes. Brinda used her talents in all churches they pastored.  They continued their ministry as Pastors of the First Assembly of God Church in Nederland, Texas, from 1993 to 2003, serving in leadership of that church also. Brinda attended Lamar University while living in Nederland, Texas. Their third pastorship was in Marlin, Texas at First Assembly of God where she served in the ministry as well as ladies ministries. While living in Marlin Brinda began volunteering at a local business, The Samaritan House, where she was anxious to greet people and help in every way. Brinda was a church musician as well as vocalists. After returning to Wills Point, she later became a church musician at the Chapel of the Lake in Wills Point. She loved her family and everyone she met. She had a big heart. And, she was a giver. If you knew her, you would find she gave 100% to make sure you felt her love. She was a person of many talents. She enjoyed cooking and if you were lucky enough to come for a meal, it was of the finest quality, of flavor and ambience. She also was an event coordinator for parties and weddings. She loved to laugh and make you laugh. She also loved gardening and anything outdoors. She loved fishing. She loved to go to the beach, and she loved the ocean. Brinda was a devoted wife to her husband Delton of 39 years and mother to their son, Marc. She leaves many memories to her family and friends and will be missed by many.

Brinda is preceded in death by her parents, Herman Floyd Rohus Sr., and Gladis Mae Marion; husband Rev. Delton Shifflett; sisters, Faye Barnes, and Rita Stephens; brother Jay Rohus; and brother-in-law Rev Aaron "Jack" Ferris.

Survivors include her son Marc Shifflett of Wills Point; sister Dottie Ferris of South Lake, TX; sister and brother-in-law Linda and Richard Ussery of Lexington, Kentucky; and sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Sammy Savage of Grand Saline; sister-in-law Linda Rohus; brother-in-law Kenneth Stephens of Cleveland, Tennessee; along with several nieces and nephews and her best friends Marion Dennis, Darlene Veasey, Karen Ottinger, Judy Adcock Brooks, Shirley Thomas Parsons and Irene Ward.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 27, 2021, from 5pm to 7pm at Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 11 am.
