Funeral services for Carlton Ray Davis, 78, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Jeremy Ogdie officiating. Interment will follow at Bright Star Cemetery north of Wills Point.
He passed away early Friday morning, March 20, 2015 in a Tyler hospital.
Carlton was born on May 16, 1936, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Bedford Ray Davis and Sybil Maureen Wilkins Davis. He was raised in Mesquite and graduated from Mesquite High School in 1954. He later attended I.B.E.W. in Dallas. On May 28, 1955, he married Reba Ray Rusk in Mesquite. Carlton was a Journeyman Electrician and was employed at Fischbach & Moore in Dallas for thirty years, retiring in 1987. He lived in Mesquite prior to moving to Wills Point in 1984. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, bird hunting, loading ammo and shooting skeet. Carlton also enjoyed going to local sporting events and was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bedford and Sybil Davis; brother, Wayne Davis; sister, Charlotte Smith; son-in-law, Joe Musholt and his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Willie Gee Rusk and Nettie Lou Rusk.
Carlton is survived by his wife, Reba Davis, of Wills Point; two sons, David D. Davis & wife, Cheryl, of Wills Point and Kyle Ray Davis & wife, Melissa, of Mesquite; daughter, Deborah Davis Musholt & husband, Christopher, of Hayfork, California; twin brother, Clifton Davis, of Wills Point; eight grandchildren, Holley Musholt-Smith, Kristyen Musholt-Jeter, David Davis, Jr., Jenna Ray Reed, Robert Davis, Lauren Ray Burton, Madison Tucker and Allison Davis and eleven great-grandchildren, Amber Smith, Ali Smith, Carli Smith, Andrew Walters, Bridget Jeter, Colten Davis, Alexis Kay Davis, Hunter Reed, Nettie Reed, Annabella Davis and Emma Ray Burton.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
