Obituary

Funeral services for Carol "Slim" Johnson, 59, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at the Wills Point High School with Pastor Brandon Bachtel, Pastor Archie Engledow and Mr. Mark Turner officiating.  Private interment will be at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point on Thursday under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Despite her valiant battle to live and after the fervent prayers of her family and friends, Slim passed into eternal glory Sunday morning, January 20, 2019, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
Carol Ann was born March 29, 1959, in Lubbock, the daughter of Joe W. Johnson and Juanita Honeycutt Johnson.  She was a lifelong resident of Wills Point. In 1977, she graduated from Wills Point High School and went on to attend Henderson County Junior College.  For ten years, she was employed by T.I. in Dallas and for the past twenty-six years, Slim was employed by the Wills Point I.S.D.  She especially loved and cared for the many students, which she came to know during her years at the school.  She also loved animals and thought that every pet deserved to be loved and cared for.  The many furry friends that she and Darlene adopted were a testimony to her love for them. Slim believed to have friends, one had to be a friend.  This is the way she developed many lasting friendships over the years. Slim never seemed to require fancy things, but rather enjoyed the simple things in life.  She loved all sports and in her spare time, she enjoyed watching college football and basketball.  She also liked scratching lottery tickets.  Slim was a member of Stonepoint Church in Wills Point.
Slim was preceded in death by her father, Joe W. Johnson.
Slim is survived by her mother, Juanita Honeycutt Jones, of Terrell; brother, Michael Pilkington, of Dickens; two sisters, Susan Hinton, of Terrell and Anita Lynn Willoughby, of Bastrop; additional family, Darlene Morrison and Kaidin Kahler, of Wills Point, Bobby & Larry Byford, of Edgewood, Robin & Will Prachyl, of Rusk, Mark & Cathy Turner, of Wills Point and her seven fur babies, Daisy, Dolly, Scout, Dixie, Sweetie, Hiway and Lily.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
