Funeral mass for Carol Sue Murphy, 72, of Wills Point, is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Forney with Father Glenn Gardner officiating. Interment will be at Union Grove Cemetery in Wills Point. Arrangements are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
She passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 14, 2015 in Forney.
Carol Sue was born November 6, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Grover Cleveland Crossland and Johnnie Sue Crossland. She was raised in Dallas and attended W.H. Adamson High School in Dallas. On January 17, 1959, she married Vincent DePaul Murphy in Dallas. Carol Sue was co-owner of Murphy's Music in Irving, retiring in 1988. After retirement, she and Vince traveled the United States performing music as a husband and wife duo. They lived in Irving prior to moving to Wills Point in 1983. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading and painting. One of her greatest enjoyments was being outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren. Carol Sue was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents, Grover Cleveland and Johnnie Sue Crossland and a daughter-in-law, Sheryl Murphy.
Carol Sue is survived by her husband, Vince Murphy, Sr., of Wills Point; two sons, Vincent "Buzzy" Murphy, Jr, of Flower Mound and Michael Patrick Murphy & wife, Charlene, of Flower Mound; daughter, Kelley Murphy-Ward & husband, Michael Patrick, of Arlington; brother, Grover Crossland & wife, Theresa, of Maumelle, Arkansas; three sisters, Linda Crossland, of Combine, Susan Crossland, of Crossroads and Dawn Moore & husband, Tommy, of Garland; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Pottkotter, of Cooper and eleven grandchildren.
If you wish to send flowers, please have them delivered to St. Martin's Catholic Church, which is located at IH-20 and FM 1641 near Forney. Be sure to have them delivered one hour prior to service.
