Carolyn Marie Cantrell, 73, of Canton, Texas passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in Tyler.

Carolyn was born on March 20, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to the late Vernon and Wanda Cantrell. Carolyn was a member of Wills Point Church of Christ. She attended Dallas Christian School until her senior year when she moved to Wills Point where she graduated in 1967. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education at East Texas State University and her Masters in psychology at Texas A&M. She spent 27 years teaching, 16 of those years she worked for Wills Point ISD and retired from there in 2003. She loved working with children and in the special education department. Carolyn wrote and published her first book called "My Special Sister" in 1995, telling the story about her sister Nancy. After caring for her mother which was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Carolyn started an Alzheimer's Support Group. Carolyn enjoyed crafts, traveling and spending time with family.

Carolyn leaves behind her sister Darlene Weesner and husband Marty of Lone Oak; nephews and nieces, Trent Weesner and Laney of Corpus Christi and Drew Weesner and Whitney of Hurst; great nephews, Finnton and Creston Weesner of Hurst; Aunt Betty Smith of DeQueen, Arkansas; numerous cousins and friends; and over 400 students she has taught over the years.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and special sister Nancy Cantrell.

Services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Wills Point Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers family request donations in honor of Carolyn be made to KK's Pre-K Project at Boles ISD. Online condolences may be made at mullinfullerfuneralhome.com.
