Carolyn Jo Rains, 79 of Tyler, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, in Lindale, Texas.

Carolyn was born on September 3, 1943, to the James A. and Opal Looper in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was of the Baptist faith. Carolyn lived in Tyler the last three years, previously living in Wills Point for many years. She retired from working in the electronics industry. Carolyn enjoyed making things. She loved sewing and crocheting.

Carolyn was predeceased by two daughters, Stephanie Couch and Marlena Mizell, and a brother, Roger Terkleson.

She is survived by two brothers, Ron (and Fran) Looper of Severn, Maryland, and Larry (and Debra) Terkleson, her loving caretakers in Tyler, Texas; a sister, Billie M. Kennedy of Terrell, Texas; and by a loved son, Steven Mizell, of Balch Springs, Texas. Plus, many grandchildren (Rachel, Clinton, Sabrina, Steven Jr. , Michael, Sean, Meghan and Sarah) and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved with all her heart.
