Funeral services for Catherine Stanley Blackwood, 86, of Mansfield, formerly of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church in Wills Point with Dr. Gene Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Terrell under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

She passed away Sunday night, December 10, 2017, at her son's residence in Mansfield.

Catherine was born March 20, 1931, in Crosbyton, Texas, the daughter of Roy Stanley Marion Carter and Katie Davis Carter. She was raised in Crosbyton, where she graduated from high school in 1947. On June 26, 1947, she married Billy Ray Blackwood in Crosbyton. Catherine was employed by Republic National Bank in Dallas, now known as Bank of America, for thirty years, retiring in 1995. She moved to Wills Point in 1975. She enjoyed playing the piano, going to church and watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and the Dallas Mavericks. Due to her failing health, she moved to Mansfield one year ago to live with her son, Don. While living in Wills Point Catherine was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her parents, Roy Stanley and Katie Davis Carter; husband, Billy Ray Blackwood in 1999; son, David Blackwood in 2010; granddaughter, Charla Gwinn; son-in-law, Harvey Bass; five sisters and a brother.

Catherine is survived by her son, Don Blackwood & wife, Marcia, of Mansfield; daughter, Cathy Bass, of Heartland; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
