Born in Devol, OK on Jun. 10, 1924
Departed on Dec. 17, 2014 and resided in Wills Point, TX.
Funeral services for Catherine "Granny" Edwards, 90, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
She passed away Wednesday morning, December 17, 2014 in Wills Point.
Catherine was born June 10, 1924, in Devol, Oklahoma, the daughter of O.D. Nalls and Rillie Nina Gardner Nalls. She was raised in Devol where she attended public school. On October 31, 1939, she married Joe Will Edwards in Devol. Following their marriage, they moved to Wills Point. Catherine loved children very much and from 1971 to 2001 she operated a daycare out of her home. She was known as Granny Edwards. She enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys and gardening. Catherine was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Will Edwards on October 14, 2002; 2 sons, Donald Wayne Edwards and Gary Joe Edwards, Sr.; brother; three sisters; two grandsons, Tracy Edwards and Dennis Whitten; great-great granddaughter, Christiana Avila; great-great grandson, Jace Edwards and a son-in-law, Charlie Spharler.
Catherine is survived by a son, Dwight Edwards & wife, Sandy, of Edgewood; two daughters, Sandra Spharler, of Wills Point and Carol Whitten & husband, Lloyd, of Arlington; six brothers, Arnold Nalls, of Arlington, John Nalls, of Madera, California, Lowell Nalls, of Western Grove, Arkansas, Royce Nalls, of Visalia, California, Jimmy Nalls, of Porterville, California and Russell Nalls, of Columbus, Mississippi; sister, Peggy Earls, of Paris; twelve grandchildren, Terry Edwards, Don Edwards, Jr., Debbie Denham, John Rosamond, Marvin Whitten, Brenda Denison, Gary Edwards, II, Connie Bernard, Danny Joe Clair, Tammy Morgan, Buddy Edwards and Donny Edwards; twenty-six great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
