Charlene Marie Childs (Wolf), passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, in Royse City, Texas. Born on November 8, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, Charlene lived a life marked by strength, passion, and unwavering dedication.

A proud graduate of Glenbard East High School, Charlene pursued a career as a banker, where she applied her strong work ethic and keen intellect with distinction until her retirement. Her professional life reflected the same tenacity and commitment that characterized her personality.

Charlene’s personal life was equally rich and full of love. In 2012, she married Bobbie Childs, sharing many joyful years together until his passing in April 2026. Previously, she was married to Franklin Baxley. She was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Wolf and Henrietta Smith Wolf, and sister to the late Gary Wolf, Allan Wolf, and Judy Nichols.

Beyond her career and family, Charlene was known for her deep affection for animals. She loved and rescued many pets throughout her life, an expression of her compassionate spirit. Her creative talents shone through her hobbies of knitting and crocheting, crafts she approached with the same passion as all other aspects of her life. Music was another enduring joy for Charlene, particularly the timeless sounds of Elvis Presley and Stevie Wonder, which brought her great happiness.

Charlene is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Angela Baxley and Michelle Thompson, and her many cherished grandchildren: Michael Baxley, Matthew Baxley, Elizabeth Baxley, Jayden Thompson, Marissa Thompson, Michael Thompson, Ashlynn Thompson, Danielle Thompson, Aiden Thompson, and Jacob Thompson. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride and joy in their lives and accomplishments.

Charlene Marie Childs leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her, as well as future generations of her family. She will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.
