Obituary

Charles Kevin "Mutt" Hallam, 61, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away on October 8, 2025.

Born on February 4, 1964, at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama, Charles was the son of Edward R. Hallam and the late Harriet (Pigford) Hallam. As a military brat, he spent his formative years moving across various locations, an experience that shaped his resilient and adaptable spirit.

Charles proudly served in the United States Army for three years and was later called back to duty during Operation Desert Storm. His time in the military instilled in him a deep sense of discipline and loyalty—qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

On May 30, 1994, Charles married Dian in Wills Point, Texas. Their union was marked by devotion and shared values that carried them through more than three decades together.

A self-employed welder and antique motorcycle restorer by trade, Charles combined craftsmanship with passion. He had a deep appreciation for vintage motorcycles and spent countless hours restoring them to their former glory. His garage was not just a workspace but a testament to his dedication and skill.

Charles was also known for his love of spirited theological discussions. He enjoyed reading his Bible and attending church services regularly. Though raised Baptist, he found spiritual community at Willow Springs Mennonite Church in Emory, Texas. His faith was central to his life and guided many of his actions.

He had a long-standing fascination with cigarette lighters and built an impressive collection over the years—a reflection of his eye for detail and appreciation for history.

Those who knew Charles will remember him as hard-headed yet generous, loyal to those he cared about, deeply committed to God, and never one to shy away from a good debate. His nickname "Mutt," affectionately given after the cartoon character from *Wacky Races*, suited his unique blend of grit and humor.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife Dian Hallam; his father Edward R. Hallam; daughter-in-love Deann Deering and her husband Jason; brother Ed Hallam II; sister Sue Harber; as well as several nieces and nephews who cherished him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his mother Harriet (Pigford) Hallam and son-in-love Dwayne Parker.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 06:30 PM to 08:00 PM at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home 205 Corky Boyd Ave. Wills Point, Tx.  May the memory of Charles Kevin "Mutt" Hallam bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
