Clara Rivera, 74, of Mabank, Texas found her peace, after having Alzheimer, on Friday, October 28, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones.

Clara was born on March 4, 1948, to the late Ricardo and Trinidad Hernandez in San Antonio, Texas. She married the love of her life Romulo Rivera Jr. on September 22, 1963. Together they shared 59 years of marriage. They moved to Mabank in 1992 where they built their home and raised their children, grandchildren and 27 foster children throughout the years. Clara served, as a Pastor's wife, at Fellowship Baptist Church and was actively involved full time in the church ministry. She loved being a mother not only to her own but many others as well. She loved getting dressed up and she loved spending time with her sisters. These are memories that will always be cherished and adored. Clara loved shopping at thrift stores, garage sales and being a collector were some things she enjoyed. In all this, she put God first and raised her children to love the Lord.

Clara leaves behind her beloved husband Romulo Rivera Jr of Mabank; siblings Maria Fuentes, Joe Hernandez, Alberto Hernandez, Jesse Hernandez, Billie Swope, Lucy Sumner, and Ed Hernandez; son, Joe Albert Rivera and wife, Dianne, daughter, Angelita Stephanie Like and husband, John, daughter, Clara Jane Shaver and husband, Kelly, son, Romulo Ray Rivera and wife, Elisha, daughter, Melissa Rivera Silva and husband JR Silva; grandsons: Steven, John, Joe, David, Issac, Luke and Emmanuel-Josiah; granddaughters: Grace, Amanda, Annah, Alyssa, Emmaleigh, and Millicent; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Clara is preceded in death by her father and mother, Ricardo and Trinidad Hernandez and by brother, Richard Hernandez Jr.

Visitation will be held for Clara Rivera on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Seagoville, Texas
