Funeral services for Clifton Thomas Davis, 80, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Wade Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at Bright Star Cemetery north of Wills Point.
He passed away Friday night, April 21, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Clifton was born May 16, 1936, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Bedford Ray Davis and Sybil Maureen Wilkins Davis. He was raised in Mesquite and graduated from Mesquite High School in 1954. On June 10, 1955, Clifton married Velma May Sims in Rylie. Clifton was formerly employed as an electrician for Fischbach-Moore in Dallas, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed hunting in Colorado, fishing and going to rodeos. Clifton was a member of I.B.E.W. for sixty plus years and Seven Oaks Baptist Church north of Wills Point.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bedford Ray and Sybil Maureen Davis Foster; wife, Velma May Davis on February 16, 2007; sister, Charlotte Ann Smith; two brothers, Gerald Wayne Davis and his twin brother, Carlton Davis and two brothers-in-law, James Smith and Edwin Austin.
Clifton is survived by two sons, Jimmy Wayne Davis & wife, Janet, of Palestine and Ricky Davis, of Wills Point; daughter, Cathy Pemberton & husband, Scott, of Wills Point; brother-in-law, Thomas Sims & wife, Hazel, of Arkansas; four sisters-in-law, Evelyn Austin, Mesquite, Thelma Green & husband, Al, of Arlington, Reba Davis, of Wills Point and Barbara Davis, of Mesquite; five grandchildren, Kaycee Davis, Rebekah Davis, Brandy Viehl & husband, Jason, Mariah Pemberton and Chase Pemberton and two great-grandchildren, Addisyn Peiser and Cole Peiser.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
