Corey Shane Tacker, of Quinlan, Texas, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Quinlan at the age of 26. He was born on May 18, 2000, in Greenville, Texas.

Corey will be remembered as a loving, generous, creative, thoughtful, funny, faith-filled, adventurous, and handy man whose presence brought warmth and energy to those around him. He was very social, loved being with people, and had a way of showing out that made life around him brighter and more memorable. He especially loved hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and, above all, spending time with his children.

A 2018 graduate of Boles ISD in Quinlan, Corey built his working life as a lineman with J&L Utilities in Edgewood, Texas. He was also a member of the NRA. His faith was an important part of his life. He attended Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall, Texas, and had previously attended Riding High Cowboy Church in Union Valley, Texas.

On January 5, 2025, Corey married Jordan Hunter in Rockwall, Texas. Together, Corey and Jordan built a family centered on love and their four children, Sutten, Stetson, Remington, and Lakelyn. His family was at the heart of his life, and the time he shared with them will remain a treasured and lasting memory.

He is survived by his wife, Jordan Tacker; their children, Sutten "Best Buddy", Stetson “Chunky Lil’ Tack Boy Bruce”, Remington "Princess", and Lakelyn "Taterchip"; his father, Michael Tacker; his mother, Marie Tacker; his brother, Casey Tacker; his sister, Staci Tacker and husband Derek Quast; his brother-in-law, Luke Hunter; his nieces, Ryan Quast, Gianna Quast, and Adley Cartwright; his nephew, Lane Cartwright; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Sarah Hunter. He also leaves behind many loved ones who will continue to carry his memory forward in their hearts.

Corey was preceded in death by his grandfather, David “Best Friend” Tacker; his Granny Lena Tacker; and his Nana Hester Carney.

Those who knew Corey will remember a man who loved deeply, lived fully, and found joy in faith, family, friendship, and the outdoors. His life, though far too brief, made a lasting impression on all who had the blessing of knowing him.

A celebration of life to honor Corey will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Riding High Cowboy Church in Union Valley, Texas, located at 8771 FM 35, Royse City, Texas 75189.
