Obituary

Funeral services for Daisy Mae Bates, 99, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2019, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor David Cartwright and Pastor Mark Stanford officiating.  Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
She passed away Friday morning, May 3, 2019, at her residence in Wills Point.
Daisy Mae was born February 28, 1920, in Wills Point, the daughter of Hugh Ed Stewart and Ruby Pearl Bolt Stewart.  She was raised in Wills Point, where she attended high school.  On October 15, 1938, she married Jake Bates in Wills Point.  Daisy was formerly employed by Terrell State Hospital and retired from Colonial Hospital in Terrell, where she was a L.V.N.  After retirement, Daisy was called in to work for Terrell Community Hospital as an L.V.N. to care for newborn babies.  In her spare time, she enjoyed talking on the telephone.  Daisy was a member of the Nurses Association and Cobb Baptist Church near Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Ruby Stewart; husband, Jake Bates on March 8, 2001 and a brother, Edward Stewart.
Daisy is survived by her four sons, David Bates & wife, Ann, of Terrell, James Bates & wife, Kathy, of Terrell, Johnny Bates & wife, Laura, of Wills Point and Carl Bates & wife, Becky, of Terrell; seven grandchildren, Anthony Bates, Mike Bates, Jamie Bates, Jessica Bentley, Jacob Bates, Whitney Kearney and Jason Bates; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday one hour prior to service.
