David Russell Cox, 80, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at UT Health in Athens.

David was born on August 18, 1941, in Evansville, Indiana to the late Myrtle and Morris Cox. He married his late wife Arthena on March 13, 1960. David retired after 36 years of being a maintenance electrician. He enjoyed motorcycle touring trips with Arthena this was his most favorite thing to do in the whole wide world. He also liked remote control airplanes, woodworking, fishing, and watching the Texas Rangers baseball on TV. David enjoyed documentaries, especially about World War I and II.

David is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

David is survived by his son, Brad Cox and Alexandria of Canton, Texas; daughter Tracy Villatoro and husband Gian of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Bryan Schaubroeck, Russell Cox, Zac Schaubroeck, Garrison Cox and Emma Cox; one great-grandchild Maddox Schaubroeck.
