July 11, 1948 – March 28, 2022
David Arthur Girouard of Grand Prairie, Texas, age 73, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, in Bedford, Texas. He was born on July 11, 1948, in Cheverly, Maryland to Arthur David Girouard, Jr., and Gwendolyn Irene Schultz. David grew up and attended school in Everman, Texas. He attended Tarrant County Junior College and the University of Texas in Arlington graduating with an Electrical Engineering Degree. His last employment was with Amerimax Building Products and his occupation was a computer programmer. He retired several years ago.
David served in the United States Army from April 16, 1966, to April 17, 1972. He was a Specialist (4)(P), Long Range Recognizance Patrol and in the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam in the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea. He was also an MP in the 2nd Armored Division in Fort Hood, Texas.
David was a die-hard Texas Longhorns football fan with his family and a dedicated member of the National Rifle Association.
David married Rebecca Ann Elms in 1986 in Everman, Texas. They were married for 36 years. David is survived by his spouse, Rebecca of Grand Prairie, Texas; his daughter, Sara Mae Eidson, of Fort Worth, Texas; his son, Thomas David Girouard, of Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas; and his granddaughters, Rebecca Mae Eidson and Addison Charlotte Eidson of Fort Worth, Texas.
He is also survived by his son David Arthur Girouard, Jr. and spouse Andrea Girouard of Dallas, Texas; his granddaughter Marlena Yvette Girouard of Laguna Niguel, California; and his daughter Leah Mary Pearson and spouse Dustin Pearson of Fort Worth, Texas; his grandchildren Deanna Joanne Rodriguez and Cole Jonathan Pearson of Fort Worth, Texas; and great granddaughter Elsie Leah Rodriguez of Fort Worth, Texas.
A graveside service will be held on May 6, 2022, at noon at High Cemetery in Canton, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association ( diabetes.org ) or Mission Arlington ( missionarlington.org ). Condolences may be left on David's online guest book.
