Obituary

David Marcus Shifflett, 45, of Wills Point went to be with the Lord peacefully, Tuesday, March 8, in Tyler Texas following a brief illness surrounded by his loving family.

David "Marc" was born February 10, 1977, in Dallas, Texas to Rev. Delton Shifflett and Brinda (Rohus) Shifflett.

Marc lived most of his life in Wills Point. He attended W.P.H.S. until 1994. He was active in sports. He played football, baseball and basketball until the family moved to Nederland, Texas his senior year where he graduated from Nederland High School in 1995. Marc attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas graduating with a BA and BS then attended Lee University in Cleveland, TN. He also attended ATI Career Training Center in Dallas, Texas receiving a degree in sports medicine and operated as a personal trainer and fitness coach. He was a member of The Chapel of the Lake where he served in media and sound operations and security with the church. Marc was a man of faith and loved God. His life being used in ministries with his parents as well. Marc enjoyed fishing and sports, was working out in a gym, talk radio and being with family and friends, having a good laugh and lemon meringue pie. His quiet and gentle spirit was what most people knew of him, but he could lighten any room with his beautiful smile. He was a prankster and loved to laugh. Marc loved his mom and dad, was a devoted son, and was a caregiver to mom and dad for many years until their death. His family wishes to share his favorite scripture; Jeremiah 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Delton and Brinda Shifflett, grandparents Floyd and Gladis Rohus and Jim and Ebbie Shifflett; aunts, Dottie Ferris, Faye Barnes, Rita Stephens; and uncles Jay Rohus and Aaron Ferris.

He is survived by his aunts Linda Ussery (Uncle Richard) of Lexington, KY, Aunt Ruth Savage (Uncle Sammy) Of Grand Saline, Aunt Linda Rohus of Grand Saline and Uncle Kenneth Stephens of Cleveland, TN; cousins, Steve Ferris, Sheree Hamm, Lorie Barnes, Stacey Tucker, Shelley Baker, Robert Elder, Lennis Walker, Candace Chavez and Eric Stephens. Marc will be missed especially by his four-legged friends, Sampson and Duke; along with a lot of friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 14, 2022, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home at 11am to 12pm. Funeral services will be held the same day at 2pm with burial to follow at White Rose Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at mullinfullerfuneralhome.com.
