David Gordon Morris, 83 of Arlington, Texas passed away on Thursday June 2, 2022, at his home.

David was born to Albert Douglas MacPherson and Eleanor Marie Sederquist Morris on August 28, 1938, in Rochester, New York. David received his BA Mathematics and MS Meteorology from Texas A&M University and his MS Bioenvironmental Engineering and Ph.D. Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He served in the US Air Force and Air Force Reserve for 37 years, retiring at the rank of Colonel.  In particular, he relished his decade of experience as a weather officer and squadron commander in the Hurricane Hunters.  He retired from a very successful career within the National Weather Service as Chief of the Hydrologic Services Division, Southern Region Headquarters after 31 years. He married his beloved wife Carole Campbell on March 7, 1964. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, and cheering for the Aggies.

David is preceded in death by his mother Eleanor Morris; father Douglas MacPherson and stepfather Roger Morris.

David leaves behind his beloved wife Carole Morris; son Timothy Morris (Cindy); daughters Carisa Taylor, Leeandra Heaton, Alayna MacPherson (Ashley); grandchildren, James Morris (Heidi), Brandon Morris (Courtney), Lauren Andersen (Tim), Meagan Taylor, Evan Taylor, Kendall Taylor, Tim Heaton, Tyler Heaton, Brynna Heaton and Jude MacPherson; great-grandchildren, Wesley Morris, Claire Morris, Lucy Andersen and Victoria Morris.

Memorial services will be held Monday, June 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3809 Curt Drive in Arlington, Texas.  Graveside services will be held Monday, June 6, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas.
