Funeral services for Marion David Nutt, 83, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Casey Cook and Pastor Jason Connors officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Terrell.
He passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 11, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family.
David was born April 19, 1933, in Avery, Texas, the son of James Rufus Nutt and Bessie Beatrice Grady Nutt. He was raised in Alba, where he attended public school. On October 10, 1958, he married Ernisteen Holley in Dallas. David was self-employed as a cement contractor in the Dallas area for many years, retiring in 1993. He also took care of the lawn at Smyrna Cemetery for many years. David lived in Red Oak prior to moving to Wills Point twenty-two years ago. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, helping others around him with their lawn work and was crazy about his bluebonnets. David was of the Pentecostal faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Nutt; three brothers, Bill Nutt, Junior Nutt and Bobby Nutt; three sisters, Alma Moody, Rachel Nutt and Mary Boswell; daughter, Patricia Diann Thompson and two sons, David Ray Nutt and Danny Craig Nutt.
David is survived by his wife, Ernisteen Nutt, of Wills Point; four sons, David Lynn Nutt, of Wills Point, Douglas Hammonds, of Plano, Dana Leslie Hammonds, of Dallas and Daryl Lynn Hammonds, of Dallas; three daughters, Brenda Beatrice Souza, of Wills Point, Susan Ann Murray, of Wills Point and Donna Kay Morris, of Arizona; sister, Winnie Mae Layman, of California; son-in-law, Robert Thompson, of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Lowrey & wife, Sophia, Michael Souza & wife, Kitzi, Daniel Souza, Staci Sills & husband, Destry, Kaitlyn Thompson, Bre'Ann Nutt and Meagan Souza; seven great-grandchildren, Ema'Lee Sills, Carson Sills, Jackson Souza, Bristol Souza, Elizabeth Lowrey, Nora Lowrey and Maverick Lowrey; numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to funeral service.
