David Glenn Strutton

David Glenn Strutton was known to all as Glenn or "Pappastrutt". He passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on September 16, 2026.

Glenn was born May 30, 1949, in Beaumont, TX to Hubert A. Strutton and Allie Marie Gillespie Strutton in Evadale, TX where he went to school until December of his senior year when he moved to Linden, TX where he graduated in May 1967. Shortly after graduation Glenn enlisted in the US Marine Corps. During a training mission to prepare for Vietnam, he had a severe asthma attack and was medically discharged and moved back to Linden.

Upon returning to Linden, a friendship rekindled with his soon-to-be soulmate, Janice Hays. Glenn and Janice were married on January 25th, 1969.

Glenn worked in construction, sales, and other things until going to work for Entex Gas Company, who in 1982 transferred him, Janice and their family to Wills Point, TX. Glenn became a volunteer fireman, then in 1988 he became a paramedic for the Wills Point Ambulance Service and worked for the city until 2005 when he and Janice purchased OK Video and ran it until their retirement in 2013.

Glenn never fully retired, on top of taking a part time job for the City of Canton during First Monday where he made many friends and enjoyed his job, he also continued in sales and volunteering. He was a member of the Wills Point Rotary Club, Wills Point Volunteer Fire Department, First Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, and finally International Outreach Church. He always took an active role and worked wherever needed in his church. Additionally, he was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association from 1996 remaining an active member until his passing.

His entire life he stayed busy, worked hard, and lived life to the fullest. He loved being with friends and family – RV camping, hiking, and playing Mexican Train (dominoes). Glenn loved people and could make friends instantly. He loved teasing and getting a rise out of them, yet he was always quick to help or stop everything and pray whenever needed.

He was preceded in death by this parents, brother Micheal D. Strutton, brother-in-law Phillip Cook, and sister-in-law Crystal Strutton. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, daughter Latricia Strutton Petty & husband Joey Petty, son Jason Strutton, son Ryan Strutton & wife Amanda Williams Strutton, grandchildren Jason Strutton Jr., Julia Strutton, Makale Strutton, Adalyn Strutton, Asher Strutton, and bonus grandchildren, Alexis Petty Deleon & husband Alex, Morgan Petty, and Addyson Petty, and six bonus great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Rhonda Strutton Cook, Felicia Strutton, Melissa Strutton Attaway & husband Kevin Attaway, brother David Strutton, and a host of relatives, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held to honor the life of Glenn on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at 2 p.m. at International Outreach Church located at 1404 Lake Dr. Wills Point, Texas.
