Dean Malone Bates, 60, of Wills Point, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at his residence.

Dean was born on October 1, 1961, to Rufe and Sharon Bates in Grand Saline. He was raised in Myrtle Springs and moved to Edgewood 34 years ago. Dean married his late wife Jessica Chaney on July 24, 1981. He worked at Wills Point Iron and Metal 20 years and framed houses for 10 years. Dean enjoyed racing cars, hunting, fishing, and traveling.

Dean is preceded in death by his father and wife.

Dean leaves behind his daughter Narona Honeycutt and James of Edgewood and Crystal McBay and Brice of Edgewood; sisters, Hope Reed and Dan of Myrtle Springs and Gail Bates Dollanhide and Jerry of Oklahoma and Dona Bates of Canton; grandchildren, Brian Hulse, Hayden Hulse, Uriah McBay, Tobias McBay and Tatum Honeycutt.

Funeral services will be held for Dean Bates on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Family will be accepting guests one hour prior for visitation. Dean will be laid to rest at Myrtle Springs Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at mullinfullerfuneralhome.com.
