Deedra Inez Carlson, 60, of Edgewood, Texas, passed away on April 27, 2025 in Tyler, Texas. Born on August 31, 1964, in Houston, Texas, Deedra lived a life marked by strength, boldness, and an enduring love for family and friends.
Deedra attended Eisenhower High School in Houston before dedicating her life to being a homemaker. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter, a true reflection of her vibrant spirit. Known as the life of the party, Deedra had a remarkable ability to bring joy to any gathering and cherished every moment spent with loved ones.
Family was at the heart of Deedra's world. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Eric Henry Sustaita, wife Courtney and Deric Thomas Sustaita, wife Samantha. Daughters, Heather Michelle Phillips; Jayme Lynn Milton, husband Jason.; Jessica Lee Carlson, partner Nikki Rowan. Father John Sullivan, sister Debbie McClure, husband Steve, and brother Jody McClure. Deedra's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kennadi, Henry III, Jazemine, Ethan, Abbigail, Noah, Brylynn, Cassi, Markus, Austin, Halynn, Joshua, Chase, and Kyle. Her memory will also be cherished by nephews, Brian, Tory, Aaron, and Bryan Michael, and niece Chelsea.
Deedra also shared deep bonds with longtime friends Tommy and Shelly Hale, daughters Trista and Alex. "Momma" Joyce Riley, and Robin Hall, along with many other family and friends. These relationships were a testament to Deedra's generous heart and magnetic personality.
She was preceded in death by her twin sons Eric Michael and Roger Deric and her mother Linda Sullivan. Though deeply missed by those who knew her best, Deedra's memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
A lover of the outdoors, Deedra found peace spending time at the lake and embraced every opportunity to be surrounded by nature. Whether enjoying a sunny afternoon or gathering around a campfire with family and friends, she found happiness in simple pleasures and meaningful connections.
A memorial service celebrating Deedra's life will be held on May 10, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Bartley Hill Venue located at 1972 FM 857 in Grand Saline, Texas.
Deedra's Christian faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her unwavering spirit and zest for living will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her dearly.
