Funeral services for Dennis Jay Mower, Sr., 72, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Oran Helm officiating. Interment will follow at Mower's Peaceful Garden north of Wills Point.
He passed away early Thursday morning, August 18, 2016, in Grand Saline.
Dennis was born August 2, 1944, in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of Robert & Mildred Mower. He was raised in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School. On October 28, 1978, he married Nancy Kelly in Vancouver, Washington. Dennis was self-employed contractor in the construction business, retiring in 2013. Prior to moving to Wills Point twenty years ago he lived in Vancouver. He was of the Mormon faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Mildred Mower; daughter, Dodie Carlson; brother, Eldon Wayne Mower and three sisters, Ruth Lundquist, Edith Mower and Arlene King.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Nancy Mower, of Wills Point; son, Dennis Jay Mower, Jr. & wife, Sarah, of Washington; three daughters, Peggy Mower, of Edgewood, Tami Mower and Christine Elliott; two brothers, Robert Mower, of Washington and Ronald Mower, of Idaho; two sisters, Lovania Mower, of Idaho and Charlotte Mower, of Idaho; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
