Funeral services for Jimmy Don Newman, 52, of Dallas, formerly of Edgewood, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Gary Newman officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood.

He passed away early Friday morning, April 8, 2016 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas surrounded by his family.

Don was born December 21, 1963, in Edgewood, Texas, the son of Jimmy Newman and Mary Francis Hutchins Newman. He was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School as Salutatorian in 1982. He later attended North Texas State University in Denton. Don was formerly employed by a courier service and a surveying company. He lived at Key West, Florida prior to moving to Dallas. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar. Don was a member of North Ridge Baptist Church in Edgewood.

Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Francis Newman and his sister, Cathey Newman.

Don is survived by his father, Jimmy Newman & wife, Yuleta, of Edgewood and sister, Shirley Alexander, of Lindale.

Pallbearers: Danny Whitfield, Dylan Wheeler, Eddie Thurston, Ken Swindall, Jesse Valentine and Neal Travis

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
