Funeral services for Don Harrison Plumlee, 81, of Myrtle Springs, are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Bro. Mike Stone and Bro. Brad LaFaver officiating. Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Quinlan.
He passed away Saturday morning, October 7, 2017, at his residence.
Don was born November 28, 1935, in Coppell, Texas, the son of Weldon Harrison Plumlee and Zelma Faye Simmons Plumlee. He was raised in Coppell, where he attended public school. On September 9, 1974, he married Lola Neal. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2007, after thirty-two years of marriage. Don was formerly employed by Dallas County Bus Service as a maintenance supervisor, retiring in 1996. He lived in Quinlan prior to moving to Myrtle Springs five and a half years ago. On March 3, 2012, he married Patsy Shinn in Myrtle Springs. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping in his R.V. and going to casinos. He was a kind, loving and caring person. Don served two terms on the Quinlan City Council and was a member of Lifehouse Fellowship Church in Myrtle Springs.
Preceded in death by his parents, Weldon Harrison and Zelma Faye Plumlee and former wives, Lola Neal Plumlee and Opal Connell.
Don is survived by his wife, Patsy Jean Plumlee, of Myrtle Springs; brother, Joe Plumlee & wife, Vickie, of Canton; son, Don Harrison Plumlee Waller & wife, Sherry, of Lakeside Village; daughter, Debra Tuttle & husband, David, of Southlake; two step-daughters, Linda Ard and Cleta Calk, both of Quinlan; niece, Jenn Craddock & husband, Jason, sons, Avery and Dylan; grandchildren, David Hughes & wife, Kristin, Brittny Waller, David Waller, Stephanie Tuttle, Jon Tuttle, Aaron Tuttle, Cassie Casillas, Jenny Bartholomew, Royce Ard, Benton Ard, Jamie Calk and Nicki Ard; numerous cousins, great-grandchildren, great nieces and nephews and former wife, Vanara Waller, of Decatur.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to funeral service.
