Donald Burge, 73, from Wills Point Texas passed away on May 19, 2023.

Donald was born on February 10, 1950, in Gulfport, Mississippi to Horatio Burge and Shelby White. Donald was raised in Copperas Cove, Texas where he attended Copperas Cove School district, he graduated with the Class of 1969.

He enlisted in the United States Army in September 1969 and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. He served two tours in the Vietnam War, receiving the purple heart.  After separating from the army, he was employed by Coin Mack in Dallas as an appliance mechanic where he retired in 2013.

Donald married the love of his life, Barbara Hooks Cornwell on November 11, 2006, in Elmo, Texas.  He was of the Christian faith and was a member at Quinlan First Assembly of God.

Donald enjoyed spending time with his goats and rabbits.  He also loved the outdoors fishing and hunting.  He loved spending time with his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Susan Barron, three sons: John Burge, Ryan Burge, and Bryce Allen Burge.

Donald leaves behind his wife Barbara Burge, children: Jarred Burge, Amanda Shannon and husband Jeff, and Jason Nichols; grandchildren: Sadie Burge, Maci Burge, Savanna Burge, Ryan Shannon, Ryder Shannon, Lainey Shannon, Dylan Nichols, Destiny Nichols, Bryce Nichols, and Braylee Nichols.
