Donald Erwin Holt, aged 94, passed away on June 25, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Born on May 12, 1930, in Savoy, Texas, he was a cherished member of the Holt family and a beloved figure in his community.
Donald proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to his country. After his military service, he enjoyed a life filled with laughter, faith, and friendship.
He was a member of the Saturn Church of Christ in Garland, Texas. He served as an Elder and song leader in several congregations over the years and started a church in Norwich, Connecticut.
Donald's hobbies included camping, traveling, and spending quality time with friends, activities that reflected his outgoing and adventurous spirit.
He is survived by, Robert Holt, Donna Small, Terry Holt and wife, Rita; grandchildren, Joshua Small and wife, Kristen, Jeremy Small and wife, Rebecca; and great-grandchildren, Stone Small, Titus Small, Ram Small, Holly Hill, Luke Small, Hudson Hill, Lola Small, and Bennett Small. He also leaves behind his sister, Jackie Burris and her husband, Ronnie. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bessie Holt; his wife, Frances Holt; and his daughter, Dianne Morrow.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10:00 AM at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas. The Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas, is assisting with the arrangements.
Donald Holt's legacy of joy, devotion, and service will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew him.
