Donna Lee Waggoner Carter, the daughter of Leroy Waggoner and Vivian Eileen Allen Waggoner, was born December 22 nd , 1939, in Dallas, TX. She was raised in Irving and was a graduate of Irving High School in 1958. She moved to Edgewood in 1979 and attended Tyler Junior College, where she received her Associates Degree in Postal Management. She was formerly employed as a postal clerk in Canton, Edgewood, and Whitehouse Post Offices, retiring in 2007. Donna loved art and ceramics, but her passion was genealogy. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, especially during her annual Camp Nanny summer camps, where she would have planned activities for one and two week sessions. Donna was a member of the Canton Genealogical Library and the Edgewood Church of Christ.
Donna passed away Friday, July 5th, 2019, at a hospital in Tyler; she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Sharon Waggoner Parks, and a stillborn brother, Allen Rance Waggoner.
Donna is survived by two sons, Douglas Niles Carter of Crosby; Guy Nelson Carter and his wife, Lisa, of Lewisville; daughter, Torri Lee Carter Beard and her husband, Ty, of Tyler; a brother, Roy Lee Waggoner and his wife, Terry, of Bowie; and three granddaughters, Brianna Beard, Brooke Carter, and Brittany Beard.
