Donna Fay Gilmore, a woman of faith, courage, and love, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023, in Wills Point, Texas. Born on August 18, 1972, in Cleveland, Mississippi, Donna's life was marked by her unwavering strength and the love she had for her family and friends.
Donna was the beloved wife of Joseph Gilmore III, and the cherished mother of Allen Michael Haas, Tristen Logan Gilmore, and Hannah Grace Gilmore. She was the proud grandmother of Isabella Marian Rae Haas, along with her bonus grandchildren, Delanie, Bellamy, Delilah, and Jude. Donna was the daughter of Laquita Jackson and the late Donald Roden. She is also survived by her brother, James Roden and his wife Ricky, and her sister, Patricia McWhorter.
Donna graduated from a Dallas High School in 1989. She was a dedicated professional, serving her community as a 911 Dispatcher in Rockwall and Terrell, Texas, until her retirement in 2017. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her courage and her deep sense of responsibility towards her community.
Donna was a woman of many interests. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved kayaking, an activity that allowed her to connect with nature and find peace in its tranquility. She also enjoyed the thrill of visiting casinos in Oklahoma, where she would often go to unwind and have fun. Donna had a special place in her heart for her pets, Wilbur, Roxy, and Marley. Their companionship brought her immense joy and comfort.
Donna was a faith-filled woman. Her belief in God was unwavering, and it guided her through the ups and downs of life. She was courageous, facing life's challenges with strength and determination. Donna was also a loving individual. Her love for her family was boundless, and she always put their needs before her own. She had a heart full of kindness and compassion, and she never hesitated to extend a helping hand to those in need.
