Doreen Ellen Sarah Petty (Barber), age 88, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, in Wills Point, Texas.

Born on February 24, 1937, in District Poplar, England, Doreen was the daughter of James and Ellen Mary Barber. Her early years were shaped by her family's move to the United States, where her parents eventually owned and operated a gas station in Dallas for several years.

On August 17, 1956, Doreen married Everett J. Petty. Their union was one of enduring love and partnership that lasted until Everett's passing on March 11, 2004. Together they built a life rooted in devotion to family and shared values.

Doreen was a devoted mother to her daughter Irene McDaniel and son-in-law Bryan. She also cherished the memory of her beloved son Glenn Petty. Her role as a grandmother brought her immense joy; she is lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren—Michael McDaniel, Matthew McDaniel, and Mellissa Petty Walker—and two great-grandchildren, Ember McDaniel and Michaela McDaniel.

Known for being loving, kind, and very thoughtful, Doreen found great happiness in spending time with her grandchildren. Her warmth and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
