Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Cook, 73, of Wills Point, formerly of Sanger, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Glen Cook officiating. Interment will be at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
She passed away Monday morning, December 18, 2017, in Wills Point.
Dorothy was born January 30, 1944, in Gober, Texas, the daughter of Henry Green and Gladys White Green. She was raised in Bonham and graduated from Gober High School in 1962. On October 25, 1965, she married John Cook in Durant, Oklahoma. Dorothy was formerly employed by the Denton Record Chronicle and the Nelson Center, both in Denton. She lived in Sanger and Mineral Wells prior to moving to Wills Point in February 2017. Dorothy was a member of the Bolivar Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Gladys Green; two brothers, Joe Green and G.W. Green; sister, Freda Scarborough and a son, Tommy Joe Cook on September 25, 2011.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, John Cook, of Wills Point; son, Mike Cook & wife, Jill Doyle-Cook, of Tucson, Arizona and two grandchildren, Jake Doyle and Molly Jane Cook.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
