Eddie Gene Barnes, 93, of Canton, Texas passed away on July 25, 2023, in DeSoto, Texas.

Eddie was born on December 1, 1929, in Blum, Texas to the late John Alex Barnes and Jessie Pearl Roper.

He grew up in Blum, Texas where he graduated from Blum High School in 1946.  Eddie enlisted in the United States Navy in August of 1947, he served until July of 1951. He then joined Naval reserves where he obtained the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.

Eddie attended Mountain View College and Dallas Baptist University where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Technical Science.

He worked at the Naval Air Station, Dallas as a general foreman/construction electrician. He obtained through his career an Electrical Masters License and HVAC Masters License.

Eddie had three children; daughter Brenda Sue Hayes (deceased), sons: Eddie G Barnes Jr.,

and Michael Dewayne Barnes.

He enjoyed playing his guitar and

WORKING A LOT.

Interment will be at the Dallas National Cemetery.
