Graveside service for Edith Arnold Stevens, 93, of Emory, formerly of Edgewood, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2019, at Plain Dealing Cemetery in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. Services are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
She passed away late Wednesday night, March 13, 2019, at her daughter's residence in Emory.
Edith was born April 28, 1925, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana, the daughter of Jimmy T. Arnold and Emma Franklin Arnold. She was raised in Plain Dealing and graduated from Plain Dealing High School. On January 11, 1946, she married William Marion Stevens in Houston. Edith was a homemaker and enjoyed staying home taking care of her two children, Larry and Vicki. In her spare time, she also enjoyed sewing. She lived in Artesia, New Mexico for nine years prior to moving to Edgewood in 1962. Edith was a faithful member of the Edgewood Church of Christ and in the last few years, a member of the Emory Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy & Emma Arnold; husband, Marion Stevens and a son, James Larry Stevens.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Vicki Wade & husband, Gene, of Emory; five grandchildren, Tammie Stevens Mason & husband, Ron, Kristy Wade Turner & husband, Brian, Landon Stevens, Kasey Wade and Kirk Wade; six great-grandchildren, Autumn Wade, Klara Nichols, Kaylee McAree, Amanda Head & husband, Paul, Ashley Dannenfesler & husband, Jack and Alex Earley and five great-great grandchildren, Colt Dannenfesler, Brant Dannenfesler, Kinsley Dannenfesler, Ellie Head and Brynlee Head.
