Funeral services for Edna Mae Melton, 78, of Quinlan, formerly of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2014, at Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point with Pastor David Cartwright officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

She passed away Monday morning, May 5, 2015, in Dallas.

Edna Mae was born October 6, 1936, in Ennis, Texas, the daughter of Turner Dobbs and Mary Smith Dobbs. She was raised in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School. On May 7, 1954, she married Jimmy Melton in Dallas. She was employed by Dahlgren Manufacturing in Dallas, Baylor Hospital in Dallas and retired in 2000 from JS Helwig & Son in Terrell. Edna had lived in Wills Point for thirty-five years prior to moving to Quinlan to live with her daughter, Cindy. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing for her grandchildren and volunteering at her church. She was a member of Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point.

Preceded in death by her parents, Turner Dobbs and Mary Dobbs Beechem; husband, Jimmy Melton and a brother, William Dobbs.

Edna is survived by two daughters, Cindy White & husband, Terry, of Quinlan and Linda Daniels, of Gun Barrel City; brother, Franklin Dobbs & wife, Margie, of Ennis; sister, Catherine Wilson, of Mesquite and two grandchildren, Jimmy White and Cody Daniels & fiancée, Michaela Kee.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
