Obituary

Edward Gale Looney of Myrtle Springs, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday July 9, 2023.

Edward was born on March 9, 1943, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to the late James Guy Looney and Sybil Baughman Looney.

He was raised in Myrtle Springs, Texas where he attended Myrtle Springs schools through his freshman year.  He then attended Wills Point High School, where he graduated with the class of 1961.

Edward married the love of his life, Vicki Stepp Looney, on May 30, 1964, in Athens, Texas.  Together they built a home of faith and love. He was a lifelong faithful servant, where he served as a deacon within the Baptist Church.

Edward joined the Army National Guard in May 1964 where he served for 7 years.  He was a Journeyman Licensed Electrician for over 50 years. Edward loved spending his time fishing, collecting lures, and watching Gunsmoke.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Phillip Looney.

Edward leaves behind his wife, Vicki Looney, son Jason Chad Looney and wife Clarissa; daughter Angel Renea Looney Turner and husband Len; brothers: James Looney and wife Johnnie, and Ricky Looney; two sisters Nancy Martin and husband Herman, Valta Gibbons and husband Nick; sister-in-law Cecelia Looney; four grandchildren Hope Turner, Jacob Looney, Andrew Looney, and Lance Turner; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas at 9:00 a.m.
