Edward Jay Stock, a man whose life was marked by dedication, compassion, and an enduring spirit of service, passed away on March 29, 2026, in Wills Point, Texas. Born on August 8, 1962, in Cortez, Colorado, Edward lived a life of heartfelt commitment to Jesus Christ, his family, and the service of his country and community.
Edward’s remarkable life was a tapestry woven with diverse experiences and meaningful accomplishments. A 1980 graduate of Farmington High School in New Mexico, he went on to pursue higher education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and completing Texas A&M University’s two-year ranching apprenticeship program, “Battle Ground to Breaking Ground.” His educational journey reflected both his intellectual curiosity and his deep connection to the land.
His professional career was distinguished and impactful. Edward served his country faithfully for seventeen years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a Computer Engineer with Intel, and later continued his service with the Federal Aviation Administration before retiring. To those who knew him professionally, Edward was respected not only for his technical skill and intelligence, but also for his steadfast dedication and integrity.
Edward was a man of many passions. Deeply rooted in his faith, he loved and served the Lord, living each day with generosity, loving kindness, and quiet strength. His devotion extended first and foremost to his family, whom he cherished above all else. In his later years, he found immense joy in ranching and in the lives of his grandchildren.
He was known by all who met him as loving and compassionate, a man of honesty and integrity whose word was his bond. Edward also carried a strong entrepreneurial spirit, reflecting his inner drive to create, nurture, and contribute meaningfully to the lives of those around him.
Edward’s family remains his enduring legacy. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Amy Lynn Stock, whose faith in Christ, companionship, and devotion were a pillar of strength in his life; his son, Edward Allen Hadley; his daughters, Amy Lynette Stock and Alicia Marie Chittim; his stepdaughters, Emily Beth Rusch, Hannah Michelle Rolin, and Marion Elizabeth Granger-Howard; and his stepson, Clark Andrew Weber. He is also survived by his former wife, Charlotte Faye Stock; his brothers, Lee Stock, James Stock, and Steve Stienhoure; and his sister, Jeanette McGee. Ten grandchildren, each precious to his heart, carry forward his love and spirit.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Leroy Stock and Mary Lou Martin Stock; his second wife, Karen Gardner Stock; his brother, Don Stock; and his granddaughter, Addison River Rusch. Their memories remain forever cherished by those who loved them.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 901 Lake Drive, Wills Point, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Edward Jay Stock’s extraordinary life, to share stories, tears, and laughter, and to remember a man who gave so much of himself to others.
Edward’s life reminds us that love, service, kindness, and faith in Jesus Christ are among the greatest legacies we leave behind. As we say goodbye, we hold tightly to his memory, inspired by the warmth of his heart and the depth of his spirit. He will remain a beacon of compassion and strength to all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
