Obituary

Effie Jean Lee, a long-time resident of Wills Point, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 3, 2020, in Greenville, Texas, at Hunt Regional Medical Center.

Effie was born on March 30, 1945, to Mattie Mae Hattaway Jones and Emery Ewel Griffin in Coffee County, Alabama. She grew up in Columbus, Georgia. Effie married the love of her life, James Lee, on September 2, 1962. She worked as an administrative assistant at Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas, until retiring in 2010. Effie loved dancing and gambling. She held charities close to her heart and enjoyed volunteering through various organizations. A memory her family will always hold dear is cruising with Effie.

To cherish her memories, she leaves behind her daughter, Jenny Burchfield and husband, Frank; sisters, Sue & husband Rex Hill, and Glenda Enlow; sister-in-law, Rosetta Shuck; grandchildren, Jessica & Robert Still, Teresa Thomas, Nathan Burchfield, Jennifer & Daniel Dockens, Brandy Hogan, Chris and Ashley Oferosky, Alicia and John Foster, Mary and Sol Brown, Christopher Lee, Robert Oferosky, Desiree Lee and Carlos Hernandez, and Austin Lee; along with many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by parents, Cecil & Mattie Jones; her loving husband, Jim Lee; children, Patricia Oferosky, Christopher Shawn Lee, and Jimmy Lee; and sister, Rita Cheeck.

Friends and family are invited to visit with Effie's family at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Thursday, February 6, 2020, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 7, 2020, at 10:00AM at Allan Fuller Funeral Home.

Burial will follow the funeral service at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas.

Arrangements are in care of Allan Fuller Funeral Home of Wills Point, Texas.
