Frances Lee Rudolph Galey, aged 78, died peacefully May 13, 2021 at Willowbend Nursing Home in Mesquite, Texas. She maintained a positive outlook through the years that Lewy Body Dementia inflicted pain and took away control of her body.
Frances Lee is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ima Rudolph and her daughter, Georgia Marie Galey.
Frances Lee is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Gordon Galey Jr. They were married July 9, 1966 in Coleman, Texas. She is also survived by their children Lee Anna Galey, Will Galey, Travis and Mindy Galey. Her brother Baker Rudolph, her Sister and Brother in Law Jana and David Fallin.
Frances Lee is lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and past students.
Frances Lee was born June 13, 1942 in Coleman, Texas. After graduating from Coleman High School in 1960, she attended University of Texas at Austin and graduated from Texas Tech University with a double major in Home Economics and Design. She started teaching at Dallas ISD but her career included teaching Art, Home Economics and Life Skills in high schools in Levelland, Corsicana, Athens, Malakoff, Mabank and Brownwood as well as Gainesville, Florida.
Frances Lee was an artist, a musician, an interior decorator, an excellent cook, a wonderful teacher, a fervent Christian, a patriotic American, a proud Texan but most of all she was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. We will miss her smile, her ready laugh, her deep interest in our lives and her enriching presence.
