Frankie Barnes was born May 29, 1932 to the late parentage of Orange and Evia Thompson in Harrison County, TX. She departed this life at her home on November 22, 2020 in Wills Point, Texas. She was the 2 nd oldest child of 10 children. Later years, she moved to Longview, Texas where she met and married Earnest Lacy, and to this union, there were four daughter: Thelma, Velma LaJoy (D), Warjeania, and Brenda Lacy.
Frankie worked for the Martins for many years and also at Pinewood Park Elementary School of Longview, Texas. She was a faithful member of East Cotton Street Church of Christ for many years. Later, she and her daughters moved to Dallas and placed membership at Trinity Park Church of Christ.
Frankie met and married Clarence Barnes, Sr. and adopted Clifford Sean Barnes. During this time, they attended Dallas West Church of Christ. They later moved to Wills Point, Texas where they attended Wills Point Church of Christ. She devoted the remainder of her career to the Schultz and remained committed for 43 years until she retired.
Frankie always did things to better herself such as attending Kilgore College for Culinary Arts. Later she attended Mountain View Collage for Floral Design and also expanded her skills with Cake Decorating, Quilting, and received many certifications. Through her skills and experience, she became an entrepreneur and established a business called, "Frankie Barnes All Occasions" as a wedding coordinator, wedding cake designer and caterer. In her spare time, she loved creating things such as decorative pillows and baskets. She loved to cook and host gatherings. She also enjoyed working in her garden, harvesting and canning. Through all of this, she still took the time out and was sacrificial in her love for others by cooking and doing things from the heart for those in need.
Preceded her in death: husband: Clarence Barnes, Sr., daughter: Velma LaJoy Smith, son: Clifford Sean Barnes; grandson: Aaron Bailey; three sisters: Ongie Bolton, Evia Thompson Mooney, and Fannie Williams; three brothers: Edward Ross Thompson, Billie Joe Thompson and Jimmy Glen Thompson.
Frankie has always praised the Lord. Even in the latter days of her life, she still had a smile and would communicate, "Thank you Lord" & "thank you Jesus!"
Frankie leaves to cherish her memories: 3 daughters: Thelma Bey (Robert), Dallas, TX; Warjeania Madden (Emmett), Forney, TX; Brenda Smith (Herschel) DeSoto, TX; Son-in-law, Leonard Wayne Smith; 3 brothers: Clarence Thompson (Annette) and Kenneth Thompson (Linda) both of Rowlett, TX; Renaldo Thompson (JoAnn), Humble, TX; 1 sister: Sandra Greer, Houston, TX; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great0great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friend: Bessie Barree', Virginia Clemmons, Georgia Chambers, Kaola Smith, and other close associates.
